Hey there. My name is Shelbie Carr and welcome to my site. I assume that you know that this site is all about me, right? Well to be honest, its actually all about my AP Literature and Composition experience and let me tell you you're in for a roller coaster ride -- that's a promise!
As soon as I signed up for this class, I knew I was entering unknown territory. I had never been a wiz at English and with that I knew I wasn't off to a great start, but I have yet to regret my decision because it has been a great experience. Before I go into all of that I'll let you in on a few things about myself:
1. I am a senior at Harper Creek High School.
2. I am in the Harper Creek Honors Choir.
3. I am a proud math nerd, but I can assure you that I do not do math for fun.
4. I am the biggest procrastinator I have ever known.
5. I hate writing, but I love to read (on my own terms).
6. I have self diagnosed myself with a social deficiency because I have been informed that I am not "street smart".
7. I am a quiet person, but that's just an insurance policy to make sure you're listening.
With all that background information out of the way, I would like to share my quest (FOSTER) through AP Literature. I of course am the mediocre, underestimated questor, who is set out on this journey to W.K. Kellogg Auditorium in pursuit of my long awaited high school diploma. Unfortunately, on my way to my goal destination I will inevitably run into may challenges (doing the readings) and trials (writing the papers), but what I don't realize is that what I am actually striving for is the retention of the knowledge that I get from this class. Although I am going to be working hard to maintain good grades and get a good score on the AP test, my main reason will always be attain the knowledge and preparation that this class will allow me.
Now as I do this I also want to help you because being able to help someone else can only affirm my retention of the material. With that in mind, I have provided links for the AP test that will help you prepare and a few of my papers that I find to be pretty great. You can click either the links up top or these buttons below and they will direct you to the specified pages. Good Luck and I hope I help!
P.S. The button up top (Explore!) does absolutely nothing. :)
