how to read literature like a professor
I developed such a love-hate relationship with this book! I loved the points that he made regardless whether or not I fully agreed with all of them. The number of ah-ha moments that I had were unbelievable, but the number of times he repeated himself seemed ridiculous. All of his points were valid, but he kept on explaining them over and over again. Through this paper I tried to include a few things that I learned from How to Read Literature Like a Professor by Thomas C. Roster and applied it to The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.
the kite runner
Within this paper I compared The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini to the poem "America" by Claude McKay. The major point I really wanted to make with this paper was that the place you call home isn't always going to be the stereotypical happy home, but what matters is that the environment you live in allows you the opportunities to grow as an individual.
Antigone vs. star wars
For this paper, I had to compare the play Antigone by Sophocles to the well-known Star Wars movie. At first I had no idea ho these two things would relate considering the times they were created and the content alone. Surprisingly, they have a lot more in common than I would have ever expected. I choose to focus on their daddy issues, which was extremely enjoyable.
